It's a combination of pyearr, ritual slaughtering of animals (sometimes husbands), and persistence.  My boys share a room at home.  The little one or the big one wonders into my room at least once a week.  Here, visiting Mom, we are all spooning in the same large bed. I think it's a good plan until it's not a good plan. That's what I've learned after 2 years of batiltng my little non-sleeper. There are no answers, there are only lots and lots of different methods to try. I have a mini-library of baby sleep books to prove it.So keep doing what you're doing but be open-minded about having to modify the plan as you go along.
